New Workshop: "How to Start a Business"

SBDC logoSolano College Small Business Development Center is presenting “How to Start Your Own Business” on March 4, 9-11:30am, at Benicia City Hall, 250 East L St., in Benicia. Cost is $30. Find out about legal structures, licenses, permits, fictitious business names, recordkeeping, self-employment taxes, business insurance and more!

“So You Want to Open a Restaurant?” is also scheduled on March 4, 6-9pm. Cost is $35. Learn from renown Chef Steven Howard, owner of Bay area-based Consult the Chef whose website is: www.ConsultTheChef.com.

In addition, Brian T. Cushing, professional educator and SBDC Sales Advisor is offering “Soft Selling Techniques That Really Work!” on March 9, 1-4pm. Cost is $35.

Both workshops are scheduled at the SBDC, 360 Campus Lane, Ste. 102, in Fairfield.

Suisun City Seeks Firm for General Plan Update

SUISUN CITY - The Suisun City Community Development Department has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a qualified firm to assist with a comprehensive update to the City's General Plan and Zoning Ordinance.

Under the direction of the Community Development Director, the consulting firm is expected to perform responsible, professional work in the research, compilation of data, analysis, studies, and planning as described in the RFP.

An optional pre-submittal conference will be held on February 25, 2010, to answer any questions about information contained in the RFP.

All proposals must be submitted by 6 p.m. on March 4, 2010.
